Hey, fruitealicious here!
I give praise, comments, and criticism about the games in this site. I love, love otome games, especially when it contains mini-games like puzzles and such.
Favorite type of game guy? The long-haired regal type. There's something about the elegant swish of their hair and gentlemanly manners that makes me all giggly inside.
A near second favorite of mine is the arrogant, badass type that's a real softie inside. Bring on the tsunderes!
Biggest pet peeve? Doormat heroines. I know developers create the girls as detached as possible in order to make it more realistic to the gamer's personality but come on, put some life into it. I'm not asking for a really colorful girl but can you not turn her into a swooning, stuttering, damsel-in-distress who's only salvation is the guy she's chasing after? I mean, really? There's a difference between a nameless face and a punching bag.
Absolutely hate? An otome game turned rape-y game. Like, you just turned the guy down and suddenly he's molesting you. WHAT. I mean. WHAT. You can't get the girl so you'll force yourself on her? Dude, that's a one-way ticket to jail. But then the heroine's like, 'oh noes, you're the love of my life, we should totes get married even though you just banged me in an ally against my will!' Really, really dislike that trope.

PC Games:
-Long Live the Queen (not really an otome game but it's so awesome! You're Elodie, a princess about to be crowned as Queen. But beware of scheming nobles, evil relatives, and commoner uprisings! Strolling through the gardens? Bam, dead. Got into a swordfight? Bam, dead. Eating chocolates? Bam, dead. It's a fight for your crown, survive until your coronation day! It's free, download it on Steam.)
-HuniePop (again, not an otome. More of an eroge, but I liked the girls even if all the PG-13 made me all squicky. The matching mini-game had me absolutely addicted. I would've liked it better if there was an epilogue for each girl, but it's an indefinite kind of game. Once you fill up the love meter there's nothing much to do, imo.)
-Seduce Me (a free otome that's available in Steam. You're a high school girl who inherited a manor from your grandpa. When you open the doors, le gasp! Five gorgeous guys seek refuge in your new home. But they're not all what they seem to be... The sequel, Seduce Me 2 is out and the reviews are very positive.)
